"Martyn!" Toby shouted, "Martyn!"
Putting the bandana in his pocket, he ran into the woods, pushing branches out of his
way and crushing leaves under his feet. He had the growing sense that his friend was in danger and he had to find him. The wind had picked up and the sky had gotten grey
like it was going to rain. Toby came to another clearing, not knowing how far he had gotten from the campsite and not keeping track of where he had went because he had forgotten his map. To his right was a small river which he knelt beside, catching his breath and taking a drink of the clear water. His brown hair fell into his eyes and
this time he didn't push it out of the way. Toby looked around, but all he saw was trees. If martyn had went this way, he would of saw footprints. It's like he had vanished into thin air. Maybe he had though, toby thought. But he shook that thought off, because none of them knew an enemy with a grudge against them that could practically teleport. Toby ran further into the woods, as they became thicker and almost darker. The sounds of natrue had all but vanished and he was getting an uneasy feeling.
"Martyn, please!" Toby yelled, "Where are you, this isn't funny!"
When he got no response, toby let out a frustrated scream and ran harder like he was being chased by creepers. When he came to a smaller clearing, he walked over to the
boulder and pressed his back to it, sliding down to the ground with his head in his hands, trying not to cry.
"Where are you..?"
Martyn woke up slowly, instantly knowing he wasn't at the campsite. When he opened
his eyes, he realised he was on his back, staring up at the dark ceiling, that was
bumpy and jagged wth stone. He was in a cave. Trying to control his breathing, he
proped himself up on his right elbow, looking around. It was just a cave, and the entrance was only about 10 meters away from him, but it was the size of a garage door. Martyn put his hand on his head because it hurt and realsed his bandana was gone. Now
his blonde hair was in his eyes more than usuall. It wasn't the issue he should be concerned about. He should be focusing on how he woke up in a cave.
"And the hero awakens." The voice from the shadows said
Martyn quickly snapped to his senses, looking around for the face that the voice
belonged too. He got to his feet and went for his sword, but it was gone. Laughter
filled the chasm sending chills down martyn's spine.
"Who are you?" Martyn demanded, "Show yourself!"
Martyn instantly regretted saying that because his worst fear walked out of the
shadows of the cave. Israphel. Martyn backed up against the wall and his face went as pale as israphel's. His heartbeat quickened and he was at a loss for words.
"Lovley to see you, hero." He grinned, "Like I said; let's talk."
"About w-what?" Martyn stammered
"About how you're going to kill your friends." His red eyes bored into martyn's,
"What?!" Martyn demanded, "Why would I do that?"
Israphel stepped forward, with his hands clasped behind his back. Martyn knew he
shouldn't be so scared, but he was. There was nothing israphel wasn't capible of and always got what he wanted.
"Toby!" Martyn yelled
"Save it boy." He snapped, "This time, no one can save you. I'm going to give you an option and theres two ways of doing it.."
"What do you want?"
"Simple, really." Israphel smiled, "Kill your friends; especially the spaceman and
his friend the dwarf."
Martyn swallowed his fear, "No! I would never-"
In one quick movment, israphel was holding martyn by the neck so hard he could
barley even breathe. He made a few choking sounds before israphel continued,
"There is already a traitor amongst you all." He informed martyn, "Duncan and
sjin to be exact.."
Martyn went wide eyed, "No.. they wouldn't.."
"But they did." He said "It didn't even take much convincing. They were tired of
being the hero. I need one more and then I can strike."
"Forget it." Martyn wheezed, "I won't betray my friends.."
The smile vanished from his face, "Then we'll have to do this the hard way."
The grip on martyn's throat tightened and he fought to breathe. Israphels eyes started
to glow and then that glow traveled down his arm, to his hand and then the veins in martyn's neck started to glow red.
"Toby!" Martyn managed to scream
The glow in his veins started traveling upwards onto his cheeks, then got brighter as
they got to his eyes. Martyn shut his eyes, but not before the glow reached them. He screamed toby's name again and then his body went limp. With a satisfied smile, israphel let go of martyn and he fell to the ground, his head hanging. Not even 10 seconds later, his eyes repoened. His pupils were rimmed with red and he had a blank look as he looked up at the villian before him
"Get up." He commanded.
"How do you feel?"
"Never been better." Martyn told him.
Israphel smiled cruley, "Good. I want you to go kill your old friends. Starting with
the boy in the black sweater."
"Yes sir." Martyn nodded, "What about the other two?"
"Kill the one you call toby and then seek out Sjin and duncan. You will kill the others together."
Martyn nodded and headed for the cave entrance, as it started to rain. Without looking
back, he walked out into the rain.
